West Ham is about people, not places. Yske him to Hackney Wick. Get pissed up and do a knees up. When City score be profane loudly with lots of cunts. When we score snog him.

Re: Where should I take a visiting Yank before the match tomorrow to give them a taste of "old" West Ham
As others have said probably the Boleyn. Apart from the stadium that bit of Green Street from Upton Park to the corner is pretty much unchanged.

Its totally different inside now but can't have everything.

If the weather is nice I'd suggest the Black Lion. Go via dogshit alley if you want. If you're feeling fit its also semi walkable to/from Stratford. Plus there's all the history etc associated with it that a yank will appreciate.

The Boleyn looks spectacular these days after the £1.5 Million refurb.

You could tell him WH fans were always a very sophisticated bunch while pointing to the arts and crafts ceramic tiles, the stained glass windows and roof lantern where the pool tables used to be.

Then buy him a pint of Bermondsey Best for £6.75p
